One of my favorite things about being in Direct Sales is that I am in business for myself but not by myself.
I have all the luxury of being self employed without the financial commitment/strain/angst.
I get to make decisions about my business and run it mostly the way I want 😉 without the huge headaches of inventory, suppliers, employees, warehouse space, shipping, etc
Yes, those things might affect my business, but I am not involved in those strategic decisions every day.
but part of being self employed is that it is tough to turn it off.
Most days I work from the time I get up until I go to bed, and I know you have days like that too.
I work a lot of weekends which means no days off
and with the beauty of the internet I work on vacations too
And I hang out with people who do what I do, so talking shop happens all day, everyday.
I am going to bet you are shaking your head yes to all of those things as well.
Great life balance, right?
So here is what I do:
I have a saying posted in my office: "Direct sales is what I do not who I am"
And I have a list of all the other things I really am:
- yoga nut
- dog mama
- diy crafter
- hostess with the mostest
- and more…..
and I make sure I schedule time to honor all these parts of me.
It is too easy to wrap myself up n the cocoon of Direct Sales, put my head down and work.
So I look at this list of what I really am, and schedule time to honor each of them.
A balanced life doesn't just happen, it takes a real commitment.
(and I am not talking about daily balance, I am talking life balance)
but it is important
because Direct Sales is what I do, not who I am
